Parks-Bowman Mansions: Haunted Bedroom

Garden District, New Orleans

Guests report a girl from the 1890s, wearing a yellow dress, who floats in the bedroom. The room itself has a private balcony and views of the gorgeous Garden District in NOLA. It might be worth risking a ghostly encounter to stay in this prime Airbnb.

Stroud House

Wakefield, North Carolina

Everyone from guests to friends and family of the homeowners has experienced scary phenomenon. They warn guests they may hear footsteps, lights will turn on and off unexpectedly, shadowy figures, glowing orbs, and a music box that plays on its own. Honestly, throw that music box away, though.

The Manor Master Chamber

St. Paul, Minnesota

According to the listing, the Pioneer Press voted this house the most mysterious in St. Paul. Scorch, a friendly Doberman, guards the manor, and while it doesn’t have a CV of weird ghost sightings, it looks the part.

Laura’s Cottage

Savannah, Georgia

In one of the most haunted cities in America, this 18th-century cottage is in the heart of the Historic District. Laura, a former occupant and now ghost, haunts the space by flickering lights and opening windows.

Historic Civil War Farmhouse

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

The host, Stephanie, swears the ghosts are friendly. She’s lived in the farmhouse, once a field hospital during the civil war, for 36 years and is happy to share ghost stories with guests.

Brisbee, Arizona

Perfect for the eco-conscious, but not for the faint-of-heart. Kat, who owns the organic home, says that spirits cause “repeated episodes of odd unexplained mischief.” Still, they’re not sinister, just naughty.
