It’s the end of the day, you’ve had your bath or shower, got in your pyjama’s and you’re sitting there thinking damn I’ve had a shit day and you wish it had never happened.
The secret is we all have days when we think that, and your day probably wasn’t as bad as you think it was.
You survived it, but the question is were you so preoccupied with your day you just forgot to be happy in yourself.
Time to look after you and practice some self-reminders.
Focus on the good
You might not think it, but every day has a good part, even if it was a case of grabbing your favorite sandwich at the deli when they have usually run out of it by the time you get there!
Maybe your boss smiled at you rather than bark orders at you and you didn’t even notice until you started to think about your day.
Life bogs us down so much we often forget to focus on the good.
Make a point of thinking about the good parts at the end of the day as well as the shit, it will make you feel better in yourself.
Do something you love
Make a point of doing what feeds your soul at least once a day. We all have the same 24 hours in the day make them count, even if you can only spare one hour do it!
A one-hour bath, relaxing with a glass of wine and a face pack, ok not your thing, how about your favorite tub of ice cream and watching a movie.
There’s a lot you can do in an hour, make sure you do it for yourself.
You are responsible for your own happiness and just you.
Life is so hectic we forget that going outside even for just a few minutes can give us so much energy when we find ourselves flagging.
Breathe in some fresh air, put on your headphones and just take a walk, look around you, it’s a beautiful world out there just waiting for you to see it.
Constantly being at home or at work can suffocate you. Your body reacts negatively to that suffocation.
There’s power in being outside, absorb it, feed on it.
Love who you are now
Your past is just that your past leave it there. Every single day is a fresh start, a new page and you are the writer.
You can’t change it, it’s done. No point getting angry that just makes for a bad part of your new day. Of course, it’s natural to rethink some things it’s how we ensure we don’t do them again, but for goodness sake don’t stay there in the dark past.
You’ve been through a lot, the way to move on is to love yourself, love who you are becoming.
Keep being brave
You are incredibly brave! Don’t think you are? Well, you are girl, you’ve got up every single day, you’ve stepped out of life’s comfort zone and have got on with doing you.
Only you know how hard it is to get through your day, so give yourself a hug and say, ‘I got this, I’m good’.
You’ll be amazed at what a little bit of self-talking in a positive way can do for your soul.
If you focus on the good things, you will find yourself feeling lifted, more positive and you will see a change come about yourself.
Try and do these things everyday and life will suddenly change and all for the better.
